Subject: Warning regarding recent fraudulent emails

I am very sad to inform you that it has come to our attention that con artists have created misleading email accounts using the name of Bishop Stephen Berg and have been taking advantage of the pandemic, sending false emails about the virus and the Church and requesting donations to be sent to fraudulent recipients.
Please be very cautious in responding to such emails. Any emails from the Bishop or the Diocese will be from dioceseofpueblo.org. They will NOT include yahoo.com, gmail.com, or the like.
If you do wish to make a donation to the needs of the diocese, you can safely do so online at http://www.diocesanministryfund.org/ All snail mail should be sent to 101 North Greenwood Street.
It is truly sad that someone would dishonestly take advantage of this pandemic for personal gain. These persons truly need our prayers for conversion. Please be careful and let not our hearts be troubled in the light of our Lord’s victory.
