KEEPING the EASTER TRADITION:  In many Eastern European countries, it is a tradition to have a basket of food blessed on Holy Saturday

or Easter Sunday.  In Poland, the blessing of the baskets is known as święcenie pokarmow wielkanocnych, a practice dating to the 15th century

or earlier, and the tradition continued this past Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of the Rectory.

Fr. Andres continues to find ways to keep up with the traditions of the Church!

Signs of Spring!  Ilene Spector shared some pictures of hope and beauty.

Hi everyone! I’ve been walking up Cement Creek Road near my house for a few weeks as I isolate at home, waiting and looking for the pasqueflowers to appear

 – our first spring wildflowers. It’s always a joy. So here are my first sightings – there weren’t many out yet, but they were beautiful to see.

Hoping everyone is safe and well. These are trying times, and also precious times to hold each other dearly and help each other as we can,
as we pray for our whole world in Silent Tenderness to our most precious God.
With much love and blessings to you all,
Ilene 💞

  PRAYER DURING CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC

O clement, O loving, O sweet Mother Mary,
We, your children of every nation,
Turn to you in this pandemic.
Our troubles are numerous; our fears are great.
Grant that we might deposit them at your feet,
Take refuge in your Immaculate Heart,
And obtain peace, healing, rescue,
And timely help in all our needs.
You are our Mother.
Pray for us to your Son.
Amen.

  PRAYER OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION

My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the most Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there, and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

I took these photos on Holy Saturday. Every morning during my prayer time, I also listen to the USCCB reflection of the daily reading
(United States Conference of Catholic Bishops). I especially loved the one on this Holy Saturday, April 11,
with the message “Life Returns, Life Prevails.” Very appropriate for our Triduum and Easter, for Spring, and for these
challenging times. Check it out, they have very beautiful reflections every day

With Love and Blessings,
Ilene
